Gildi in harmony with nature
Tama are an indigenous people of Colombia, originally from the territory of the Caguán River and its tributaries in Caquetá and El Caguán in Huila.
During the Spanish conquest and during the colonial era, many were enslaved to work in the encomiendas of the Alto Magdalena and what is now the department of Huila.
History of the Tama The Tama is one of the peoples named in colonial texts by the Spaniards who resisted the Spanish invasion in Alto Magdalena and El Caguán. In 1721 a general uprising of the Putumayo and Caquetá tribes took place with the participation of the Andaquí, Tama and "Mocoa" peoples.
