Gildi in harmony with nature
Sáliba: Sáliba live in the north of Amazonas state and are in the process of assimilation. In Colombia they live in Casanare (Orocué, and Hato Corozal and Paz de Ariporo), Meta (Puerto Gaitán) and Vichada (Santa Rosalía). In the municipality of Orocué they live in 8 resguardos: Macucuana, Saladillo, Paravare, El Consejo, El Suspiro, San Juanito, El Médano and El Duya. Altogether, they total some 40,000 hectares. In 1986, the Caño Mochuelo indigenous reservation was established in Hato Corozal and Paz de Ariporo, where the Sálibas live together with the Cuiba, Sikuani, Piapoco and Yaruro communities.
