Zibethinus is an evergreen tree with a straight trunk with a conical crown, alternate and oval leaves. Its fragrant flowers and large brown fruits covered with thorns. These contain a pulp with a strong characteristic odor. It has a thick wood that is used to build furniture or packaging. It is a tree about 25 m tall, native to Southeast Asia and belongs to the Malvaceae family, a huge family that includes hibiscus, okra and cotton.
