The Carqueja is a plant, ideal for garden beds, because it grows forming thick bushes. Because of its bitter taste, popular medicine recommends it to combat digestive and hepatic problems. It is a widely distributed plant in South America, where it is traditionally used as a medicinal plant. It grows in much of the Amazon rainforest and in the tropical parts of Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay.
