The term "Bororo" means "village courtyard" and is their official denomination.
They call themselves Boe. In their history, other names were used to identify them: Coxiponé, Araripoconé, Araés, Cuiabá, Coroados, Porrudos.
The Boe live in the region of the Xingu river formers to the north, the vicinity of the Miranda river to the south, in the center-south of the state of Goias to the east and the current territory of Bolivia to the west.
