Ankaramite is an igneous rock of dark color and texture corresponding to a porphyritic basanite rich in phenocrysts of pyroxene and olivine. It contains minor amounts of plagioclase and as accessory minerals biotite, apatite and iron oxides. Its type locality is Ankaramy, in Ampasindava, Madagascar.
